Your submissions
Only submit material you have the right to share — it is yours, you have permission, or it is genuinely free of restrictions. Tell editors when a memory is personal recollection, when a claim needs verification, and when media has rights restrictions. An uncertain lead an editor can research is worth more than a confident claim nobody can check.
Rights you keep, and the licence you grant
You keep copyright and every other right you had. What you grant is a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence for the Jamaican Music Atlas to store your submission, review it, and — if editors accept it — publish and display it on the atlas and in material describing the atlas, with the credit you asked for.
That licence does not let us sell your material, license it on to third parties, or claim it as our own, and it takes nothing away from what you can do with your own work elsewhere. It is revocable: ask us to take a submission down and we will. Review before publication
Submissions enter an editorial queue. Editors may request more information, publish selected context, keep material private, or reject material that cannot be verified or safely used. Nothing appears publicly because it was submitted.
Credit
You may provide a credit name, remain anonymous publicly, or request attribution changes through the account/contact process. Contact details you give us stay private to you and the editors; they are never published with an entry.
Corrections and removal
Ask for a correction, a change of credit or the removal of something you submitted at any time — no reason and no legal claim needed. See corrections, takedowns and removal for what happens and how fast.
