Diaspora migration routes

Well supported

Jamaican music travelled the routes Jamaicans travelled — to Britain on the postwar labour migration, to Toronto and New York, to Panama for canal work generations earlier. Each destination grew its own scene with its own accent, and each sent something back. The map of the music is a map of the movement of people, not of exports.
