Radio cassette/tape circulation

Well supported

The listener's archive: taping radio shows, clash broadcasts and countdowns at home, then copying and passing the cassettes on — to country districts, to relatives abroad, to anyone the signal missed. For decades this informal duplication was how specialist radio reached beyond its transmitter, and many broadcasts survive only as somebody's home tape.
