The International Reggae and World Music Awards, founded in 1982 by Ephraim Martin and staged mainly out of Chicago. For years it was one of the few award platforms that took reggae seriously as a field rather than a category, and its lists are a useful record of who the industry considered significant in any given year.

Awards are reception, not final proof
