YUSH

A Jamaican party series that took its name from Mad Cobra's 1991 record "Yush" and has run for more than two decades on the strength of one format decision.

The first YUSH was held on 6 June 2003. Roughly 500 people paid J$500 at the door, DJ HMV Disco played, Appleton took the title sponsorship, and the rum was free — the all-inclusive arrangement in its clearest form. It was founded by Carrie "Quizz" Sigurdson with Scott Dunn and Philip "PP" Palmer. YUSH #2 followed in November of the same year, and it has run two or three times a year since.

In 2009 it joined the coalition of promoters that created Jamaica Dream Weekend, which grew into the largest Jamaican festival of its kind.
