Public record: entertainer Robert “Kentucky Kid” Hill was shot and killed at his Ivy Green Mews home in December 2009. Police described a shoot-out; Hill had previously made complaints to the Police Public Complaints Authority and Jamaicans For Justice and posted videos alleging police abuse. On 12 August 2014 the Jamaica Observer reported that a Kingston and St Andrew Coroner's Court jury had ruled that three police officers and two civilians should be charged with murder and that the coroner ordered arrest warrants. The report said the matter would proceed to the Circuit Court; this record does not assert a conviction or a later disposition.
