Zebra — rape and buggery conviction (2010)

Garfield Vassell, the deejay Zebra, was convicted in the St Catherine Circuit Court in November 2010 of the rape and buggery of a 14-year-old girl, and sentenced to 20 years and 10 years respectively. The sentences were originally ordered to run consecutively — reported at the time as 30 years — and were later ordered to run concurrently from February 2011. Reporting also records earlier convictions: assault with intent to rape in 2001 and rape in 2002.
