Chad Young

Chad Young was the son of IRIE FM's founder Karl Young, and took over Grove Broadcasting — the company behind IRIE FM and ZIP 103 FM — as chief executive and managing director after his father's death in June 2010. He was in his twenties when the island's first all-reggae station became his to run. He died at his home in St Ann on 27 February 2014 after a brief illness, aged 27, less than four years after inheriting the company.
Two deaths in under four years left the station that changed Jamaican radio without either of the men who had built and inherited it.
