Guillaume "Stepper" Briard

Well supported

French saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist and producer, playing since the 1980s across Paris, England and Jamaica. In the early 2000s he joined Sly and Robbie's Taxi Gang, taking the saxophone chair after Dean Fraser, and released "Stepper Takes The Taxi" with them. He produced and composed for Jamaican veterans in his own right -- U-Roy's "Now" (2001) and Horace Andy's "Mek It Bun" (2002) and "Livin' It Up" (2007) -- and co-produced Johnny Osbourne's "Right Right Time" for Baco.

Scene veterans also place him in the pool of French players who back visiting Jamaican artists, and name earlier tours with Justin Hinds, Stranger Cole and Scully Simms alongside Alpha Boys School alumni.
