Junko Kudo

Well supported

Junko Kudo, known in dancehall as Dancehall Queen Junko, is a Japanese dancer who in 2002 became the first non-Jamaican to win the International Dancehall Queen competition in Montego Bay. Ballet-trained and drawn to Jamaican music through Japan's reggae scene, her win drew wide attention and she has since taught dancehall, released instructional DVDs and become a leading figure connecting Japan's dancehall community to Jamaica.
