Among the earliest women deejays in Jamaican dancehall, recording through the early-1980s sound-system and studio scene when the deejay ranks were almost entirely male — "Informer" is her best-remembered side. Her presence on rhythm-section labels of the era opened a door that Sister Nancy, Lady G and their successors widened.

Women deejays and singers are in the record from the earliest dancehall onward, and are consistently thinner in the histories than their male contemporaries — fewer interviews, fewer discographies, fewer photographs kept. The gap is in the documentation rather than in the music.
