Little Roy

Earl Lowe, known as Little Roy, born 1953 in Whitfield Town, Kingston, who was named by Prince Buster, scored a landmark early Rastafari hit with "Bongo Nyah" (1969) for producer Lloyd "The Matador" Daley, and later cut "Prophecy" at Lee "Scratch" Perry's Black Ark, with Perry engineering. Bradley notes that Little Roy's 1971 single "Hard Fighter" is widely regarded, though not universally agreed, as the first record issued with a specially remixed dub-style version side; the same mix was later reissued under the title "Voo-doo".
