The music-education lineage of the Alpha Boys School, the Kingston institution run by the Sisters of Mercy whose band room trained Don Drummond, Tommy McCook, Rico Rodriguez and generations of Jamaican brass. Its successor programmes continue the trade-school tradition that gave ska its horn section.
