Ragga (magazine)

France's first large-circulation Jamaican-music magazine on the European continent, launched in late 1997 and running to 84 paper issues. At its commercial peak it sold around 35,500 copies per issue, and its contributor puts its golden age in the late 1990s through to about 2007. Each issue carried a covermount CD of roughly ten to twelve tracks drawn from several countries, a large share of them Jamaican, many of which were not released on physical format anywhere else.

It was distributed through newsstands nationwide and reached francophone Canada, Belgium and Switzerland and the French overseas territories, alongside bookshops, mail order and subscriptions. Several of its writers carried its coverage forward into the successor title Reggae Vibes (France).
