One Love / People Get Ready

The Wailers first cut "One Love" as ska for Studio One in the mid-1960s; the version most of the world knows is the Exodus recording of 1977, which weaves in Curtis Mayfield's "People Get Ready" and credits him alongside Marley. Released as a single in 1984 during the Legend campaign, it became the song most often used to stand for Jamaica abroad — a status that has drawn as much criticism as affection.
