Monster Shack Crew

Dancehall trio of Ghost, General B and Roundhead, who came together on the sound-system circuit and were among the most prominent crew acts in the music by the end of the 1990s. Their album Monster Party appeared in 1998, and their sides — "Never Heard Ah We", "Profile", "Scream", "Hotty Hotty Crew", "Weed Is Life" — carried a delivery borrowed more from hip hop than from traditional Jamaican toasting, over rhythms that stayed unmistakably dancehall. All three sustained solo careers alongside the crew. Sources disagree on when they joined forces: one account gives 1994, another 1996, and the archive records both rather than choosing.
