Maxfield Park is a west-central Kingston neighbourhood off Maxfield Avenue, in the belt of communities — Greenwich Farm, Denham Town, Trench Town, Waterhouse — that supplied much of the singing and deejaying talent of the roots and early-dancehall years. It is recorded here as the birthplace of the early-dancehall singer Michael Palmer, who came up in the late 1970s on Stereophonic Sound alongside General Echo and took his lead from his neighbour Leroy Smart.
