Trench Town

Well supported

The West Kingston government-built yard district that shaped a remarkable share of the music: Bob Marley, Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer came up here, mentored by Joe Higgs, and the communal yards with their standpipes and shared kitchens are where a great deal of early rehearsal happened. It is both a real place with a hard history and the most mythologised address in reggae.
